Introduction
These terms and conditions are between Microworkshops Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, with company registration number 09771608 (we, us or our) and you, being the person or entity placing an order for any Parts (you or your) through our website at www.microworkshops.co.uk or the person or entity stated in the quote we provide to you.
By using the Microworkshops website and service, you acknowledge to have read, understood and agree to be bound by these “Terms and Conditions” and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, you should not use the Microworkshops Services and Website.
We produce physical parts from 3D files which you provide to us either via our website or email. Microworkshops utilizes a third-party automatic pricing system to receive and organise customer orders.
Services
If you’d like to turn your 3D model into a physical object, you can place an order with us. We manufacture all parts according to the specifications you provide, using our selected materials.
Unless otherwise specified during the checkout process, all charges will be billed and collected by Microworkshops. If your model is not manufacturable or contains features that could result in unsatisfactory manufacturing outcomes, we will contact you and recommend the necessary changes. If adjustments are not feasible, a refund may be issued, if manufacturing has not yet started.
Our third-party software evaluates your model for manufacturability. Models that are not suitable for 3D printing will need to be reviewed by an expert 3D designer, who may or may not be able to modify the model for manufacturing. Microworkshops does not offer design or modelling services, so customers are responsible for sourcing their own 3D designs and/or 3D designers. We will inform you of the reasons your 3D design may not be manufacturable so that your 3D designer can attempt to resolve the issue.
Please note that third-party software assesses the manufacturability of your models and, when possible, automatically repairs them on a best-effort basis. A model that successfully passes our software’s check for manufacturability, either before or after having been automatically repaired, might still be non-manufacturable. We run routine checks on all models and will advise you, but we shall not be held responsible for any loss, damage or costs incurred if the model has features that are outside the guidelines stated on design guide page – https://microworkshops.co.uk/3d-printing-design-guid/
2. Acceptance
Your use of our services constitutes your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please refrain from using our services
3. Accounts
4. Use of the Microworkshops Site
When using the Site, you must not do or attempt to do anything that is unlawful or inappropriate, including:
5. Orders
6. Price and payments
7. Cancellations and Order Changes
8. Lead Times
Lead times are estimates and are not guaranteed in any way. Uncommon and unpredictable factors, such as machine failures, may result in order delays.
If Express orders take longer than expected, a partial refund may be given equal to the cost of the additional fees, but no full refunds are given.
There are no Lead time-related refunds for Economy orders.
9. Shipping
10. Minimum Guaranteed Thickness
Parts are guaranteed with a minimum wall thickness of 1 mm. We will print things thinner, but it is at your own risk. If these break in our hands, your hands, or during delivery, they will not be covered or reprinted at no cost. While we make every effort to inspect each model for printing, thinner parts may occasionally be overlooked. Microworkshops is not responsible for any missed parts that are printed and subsequently result in a failed or broken item.
11. Non-Manifold Geometry
At times 3D models supplied to us contain non-manifold geometry. Our ordering system attempts to automatically repair all non-manifold geometries but does so on a best-effort basis and does not in any way guarantee repair. If we identify non-manifold geometry, we will inform you of the potential risks. However, it is not always possible to detect such issues, so we cannot guarantee any level of accuracy for 3D models containing non-manifold geometry.
12. Part Accuracy
Microworkshops does not guarantee any part to any degree of accuracy, this is because some parts can suffer from uncontrollable shrinkage/warping due to their geometry and specifically large flat sections which Microworkshops cannot always consult on before the printing commences. However, most parts are within +/- 0.3 mm’s of the original dimensions, or 0.3% of the dimension. No reprints will be provided if a part falls within the specified tolerances. If a part falls outside these tolerances, it is at the discretion of Microworkshops to decide whether the part will be reprinted.
Anything that is under our 1 mm guaranteed thickness is not covered at all to any level of accuracy.
13. Fit for Purpose
All parts that Microworkshops manufactures are manufactured to a suitable standard. However, Microworkshops stresses that any part manufactured for any other purpose than that of prototyping should be submitted for testing by the relevant regulating bodies. Microworkshops accepts no responsibility for parts used for any other purpose than prototyping.
14. Warranty
As Microworkshops is independent of the design of the part, Microworkshops does not offers any warranty on any parts and does not insure against design in any way.
While 3D printing is a great and cost-effective method for producing low-volume and one-off items, the quality and price are unlikely to compare to those of mass-produced products. Misunderstandings regarding strength, surface finish, and cost do not constitute grounds for a refund in any case.
Microworkshops provides no warranty other than those expressly stated in these terms and conditions. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we hereby expressly disclaim any representations or warranties of any kind, whether expressed or implied, including, without limitation, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Some states or countries do not allow limitations on implied warranties, so these restrictions may not apply to you.
15. Limitation of Liability
These Terms and Conditions set out the full extent of our obligations and liabilities in respect of the Microworkshops Services. There are no warranties, conditions, or other terms binding on us concerning the supply of Services, except as explicitly stated in these Terms and Conditions. Any warranty, condition or other term arising out of or in connection with the Services or the delivered models which might otherwise be implied into or incorporated into these Terms and Conditions by statute, common law, laws applicable in the country where you ordered the Services or otherwise (including without limitation any implied term as to quality, fitness for purpose, reasonable care and skill) is hereby expressly excluded.
